Donor Activities
Supporting donor coordination at the local level is a priority activity of MIGEDC. In January 2007, the program hosted a two-day Iloilo Philippine Development Forum, bringing together donors, local government representatives, NGOs and NGAs to review best practices and discuss strategies to better coordinate donor assistance at the local level. Learnings from the forum were fed to the PDF WG on Local Governments and Decentralization.
It also supported donor coordination to improve implementation by working with ODAs operating in the MIGEDC. It held meetings with LGUs implementing ODA where it was decided to collect ODA project profiles and publish a report from these profiles. This section on ODA partners is dedicated in showcasing ODA activities.
An LGDP Update Bulletin was born to serve as template for sharing ODA project experiences.
Case studies of the Local Area Partnerships in Western Visayas are being prepared to identify lessons and experiences in managing LGU cooperative undertakings.
